McMeans wins the 97th Bob Riley Open

The only thing hotter than the last two days was Vaughn McMeans’ start to the 2nd round at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandra, Virginia. McMeans birdied the first 4 holes to catch first round leader and 2023 Champion, Owen Love, and it was a lead he never gave up the rest of the day. When Love double bogey the par 3 6th hole, McMeans was the solo leader the rest of the day. McMeans, from Leesburg, Va., had rounds of 71-69 (-4) for a 3 shot victory over Tim Luckett (low round of the day 68). McMeans will play for George Mason this upcoming year.
