Cannon Duo Wins WMGA Four-Ball

George Shenas and Joe Stallings enjoy playing at their home club, The Cannon Club, and really enjoy when they get to play a regional tournament like the WMGA Four-Ball Championship. The pair got off to a good start with 3 under after 6 holes with birdies on #3 (Shenas), #4 (Stallings), #6 (Both players) but it was the back nine that won them the event. Shenas birdied #11 and #12 and Stallings birdied #16, #17, #18 (Shenas also birdied #16). The Cannon pair shot 8 under par (Par 71) 63 and defeated a trio of teams by one shot Joseph Neal and Sean Heintzelman, Keegan Boone and Dugan McCabe, and Tracy Vallandingham and Kyle Carranza. Tied for 5th was the Loyola University team of Dustin Stocksdale and Lorenzo Sanz and Tyler and Justin Wingo at 65.

The Senior Division was won by Dean Griffith and Pete DeTemple with 63 that included two eagles by Dean Griffith (Hole #1 and #11) and 5 birdies. The victory was by one shot over 2023 WMGA Four-Ball Champions David Nocar and Lee Flemister (64) and by 4 shots over Bill Jenner and Greg Winkler.

The Super Senior Division was won by the Hunt Valley Country Club pair of Tom Grem and Gavin Stringer.
