Washington Golf 11 – vs – 7 Norbeck

HIGHLIGHTS from Round 3

Division 7 was the big story of the day, as Lakewood defeated Manor 11 1/2 to 6 1/2, upending their hope for a sweep. But, as fate would have it, manor advances on the strength of their point total. With three teams tied at 2-1, the tie breaker is the team (of the three tied) with the most points. Manor gained 35 1/2 total points, narrowly beating out Lakewood, which had totaled 32 1/2 points. Further proof that every putt and every point counts.

The Cannon Club scored another convincing win, beating Woodmore 15-3. In their other match they beat Tantallon 16 1/2 to 1 1/2. It does not hurt to have Dennis Winters, PGA, as your pro. A super player for many years, Winters won the Maryland Open in 2000. He was also runner-up three times.
