WMGA Nominating Committee Report Available for Review

Terms will begin on December 1, 2017 and are for two years.

This report will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the WMGA on Saturday, November 11 at the Manor CC in Rockville.  The nominees, as recommended by the Nominating Committee are as follows:


John Anthony has been nominated to serve a two year term as the President of the WMGA.  John grew up in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  As a junior golfer, he competed in the junior tournaments conducted by Frank Emmet which are now conducted by the WMGA, so his journey has come full circle.  He attended Georgetown Prep and Furman University.   John is the head of a small business in Gaithersburg.  John is a long time member at the Manor CC in Rockville and has served the WMGA since 2006, and is the current 1st VP.


Jack Leidich, currently 2nd VP of the WMGA, has been nominated to serve as the association’s 1st VP.  He is a thirty-four year federal employee of the U. S. Census Bureau, currently serving as the Business Manager of the Decennial Contracts Execution Office in support of Decennial Census operations.  He has played golf his entire life  and began competing while in high school.  In addition to his WMGA activities he volunteers throughout the year as a walking scorer for USGA, PGA and Champion Tour events.  Jack also serves as the Committee Chairman for the Census Golf Club, a workplace USGA type 2 club with over 160 members.  Jack plays out of the Glenn Dale GC in Glenn Dale, Maryland


Bruce Nordstrom, a member at the Springfield G & CC in Northern Virginia for 37 years, has been nominated to serve the WMGA as its 2nd VP.  He got his start in golf playing in high school.  Bruce is a 1969 graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic.  He worked for the International Chiropractors Association from 1971 to 1989, serving as its Executive Vice-President from 1980 to 1989.  He entered private practice in 1989.  Bruce retired in 2008 to pursue his passion for golf.  He has served on the Green and Rules Committees at Springfield G & CC.  Bruce has been very active in the WMGA, serving on the Executive Committee and working as both a rules official and golf course rater.  He also assists the VSGA and the MAGA as a rules official.


William R. Crosthwait has been nominated to continue serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of the WMGA. Bill, a member at Holly Hills CC in Ijamsville, Maryland, has been active in the WMGA since 2006.  Bill graduated from Texas A & M University with a BSEE.  He followed with Masters Certificates in Project Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology and the AT&T School of Business & Technology.  He has worked for the Harris Corporation, IBM, and AT&T and is the holder of two US patents. He retired in 2003 and has been active in golf ever since.  He serves a rules official for the WMGA, MAGA, MSGA, and the Mid-Atlantic Section of the PGA.  Bill is also an active golf course rater, assisting both the WMGA and MSGA.
