WMGA Statement on COVID-19, Coronavirus

Middle Atlantic Golf Association & Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Statement on COVID-19, Coronavirus

The Middle Atlantic and Washington Metropolitan golf associations, like our players, member clubs, and other golf associations, are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation.

At this time we are planning on conducting our team and individual competitions as scheduled.  We will continue to monitor announcements from and follow recommended guidelines provided by local and state health authorities.

We encourage all of our players to do the same and to follow sound, basic hygiene – frequent washing of hands, avoiding touching your face, covering your mouth when sneezing/coughing, etc.  We also suggest that you eliminate handshakes for the time being.  Our member clubs will be implementing precautions as well, including more frequent cleaning of facilities.

The MAGA and WMGA ask that you stay home if you are showing any signs of the COVID-19, Coronavirus.  If you are, please withdraw from an event, rather than play.

We are committed to helping minimize the risk of exposure and transmission and keeping all of our players well and safe.

Please stay tuned to our website for updates.
